On Saturday, we found ourselves in the Garden Lakes area dropping Erin off at a birthday party. We decided to get some bread and watch the ducks! It was so nice out.
We found a family of geese, but the parents didn't want us to get too close to the babies. They sure were cute! I love it when they all walk in a line just like the "duck crossing" signs. Anyway, I learned that geese will hiss at you if you make them nervous. Robbie thought this was hilarious! And he would lean forward and hiss right back at them. So now if you ask him what a duck says, he'll hiss at you. (He thinks they're all ducks... or "guk" to be exact)
We spent a lot of time feeding one particular goose. It was a big hit with the kids! Erin got a little nervous when he got too close, but I showed her that if she stood up he would back off. So that made her more comfortable.
Unfortunately, it was also a big hit when the goose pooped.
- Erin: "Mom, he's pooping!!"
- Robbie: "Bleh!" (followed by belly laughing)

How fun!! I have never seen a family of geese, how cute!
Yes, something about kids and poop... my kids (okay actually the boys) go crazy if they see an animal pooping! It doesn't matter what other fun things they did or saw, if they saw an animal poop that was the highlight of the day.
That is a lot of fun. Gavin thinks everything is a duck too. I think that is funny!
We tried to feed ducks at the Friendship Park one time and they had now clue what we were doing. I have never heard of ducks not wanting bread crumbs. Oh well... :-)
How fun! I love this time of year when you can be outside with your kids. They love it!
That is awsome! I remember feeding the duck at the safford fairgrounds! They are scary, cute little animals!
